A hydraulic ring ensured flow rate and pressure (usually 2-3 bar) to the entire system from which the individual machines were directly fed, but this often led to inefficiencies and high management costs also associated with the fluid containing the swarf removed during the machine processing phase, which was discharged into underground collection channels.

Compared to direct power supply from the centralized system, the total flow rate required by the individual machines/systems is considerably reduced and is between 1/3 and 1/5 of that originally supplied.

The space required for the installation of emulsion and swarf management systems, usually located on board the machine, is considerably reduced as the volume required for the process is smaller and the system is much more compact.
